PCB to organise Asia Cup 2020

NEW DELHI: The next edition of Asia Cup, slated to be held in September 2020  just a month before the World T20 will be hosted by Pakistan, but a call on whether the event will be held in Pakistan or UAE still remains to be taken. Asian Cricket Council President Nazmul Hassan Papon confirmed that PCB will play hosts to the event which takes place in September 2020.

One of the major reasons behind the competition not being held in Pakistan is relations between Pakistan and India are at the lowest ebb on both political and cricketing fronts. In case Pakistan misses out, UAE looks like the most likely destination. Sources in the PCB told on Thursday that the Board will make all out efforts to make sure that the Asia Cup is held on Pakistani soil.

The 2020 edition of the Asia Cup will be held in the month of September, just a month before the ICC Twenty20 World Cup and played in the T20 format. Since the Lahore terror attacks on the Sri Lankan team in 2009, international cricket has slowly returned to Pakistan.
